Experienced GP Veterinarian Wanted for Private Practice Specialty & Emergency Hospital
Bixby Animal Specialty & Emergency in Torrance, CA, is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our GP department. As a committed private practice hospital, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to our clients and exceptional medical care to our patients.
Our practice is quickly becoming the hospital of choice for board-certified specialists in ER, critical care, surgery, internal medicine, and cardiology. Now that we’re seeing increased demand from clients for GP care, we’re looking to add a strong general practitioner to the team.

Ideally, you have the experience and desire to mentor the next generation of veterinarians. We actively seek new graduates to join our practices, all of whom participate in our structured mentorship program. Beyond seeing your own cases, you’ll help guide our new graduates through the beginning months of their professional life, overseeing their progress, reviewing cases with them, and providing feedback.

Every Associate is supported by a Doctor’s Assistant in addition to RVTs, Vet Assistants, and Pharmacy Technician, all dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient outcomes.
Our hospital have 8 exam rooms, two surgery suites, large doctors’ office, separate dog and cat wards, and is outfitted with all the latest equipment, including:
Digital full-body radiography and digital dental radiography
In-house lab with Idexx Catalyst, SnapPro, Abaxis PTPTT, and CBC machines
Full suite of dental equipment
Endoscopy
Cold laser
Ultrasound
ICU (oxygen) Cage
In-house and online pharmacy
Compensation and Benefits
- $150k - $180k base salary, depending on experience
- Signing bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates
- Quarterly commission payments and no negative accrual
- Additional compensation when mentoring new grads
- Flexible 3 and 4-day work weeks
- 3 weeks PTO, plus 1 week paid time to attend CE

Requirements
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited university.
Valid license to practice in California, prior to start date.
Only candidates currently residing in the United States will be considered.
