Function of Position:
This lab assistant is an hourly position appointed on a semester by semester basis and assigned to help faculty with the following responsibilities as determined by the instructor(s):
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance
- Student instruction in the use of imaging and processing equipment
- C-arm instruction and lab assistance
- Assists faculty in imaging procedures practice and competency labs, and imaging production labs
- Attendance (Daily)
- Maintains records and statistics as assigned
- Reviews student assignments as assigned by faculty
- Remediation for procedures competencies and image analyses
- Maintains a computerized running inventory of lab supplies and equipment
- Replenishes lab supplies as needed
- Requests quotes for supplies and equipment as needed
- Informs RSO and faculty of safety and equipment issues or needs
- Participates in department/division/college meetings as requested
- Miscellaneous as per instructor
The clinical assistant will not be responsible for any academic advising.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Valid NYS RT License
- ARRT Certified in radiologic technology
- Associate degree from accredited radiologic technology program
- Demonstrates high academic and clinical ability
- One year experience working as a radiologic technologist in a medical imaging department
- Knowledge and ability to work with computer software for imaging and education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in operating room and fluoroscopic imaging
- Knowledge of sectional anatomy and CT or Interventional radiography
- Experience working with students in an academic setting or as a clinical instructor
- Demonstrates high academic and clinical ability
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $40 to $50 per hour and is based on these mentioned factors.
There will be an orientation scheduled prior to the start of the lab assistant program to outline roles and responsibilities. Assignments will begin the first day of classes. The position will be for one academic semester. Each lab assistant will be reviewed upon completion of the Fall semester and notified if they will be assigned in the Spring semester. If at any time a lab assistant's work is hindering student success, the lab assistant will meet with both the clinical faculty and department chair to determine if the lab assistant should continue in the position. Lab assistants are expected to adhere to all college policies and trainings as well as program policies and procedures.
