- Program Director - Medical Imaging: Radiography
Description
The Program Director for Radiography is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, continuous improvement, and accreditation compliance of the program. This position ensures excellence in curriculum delivery, faculty and student support, and clinical education partnerships. The Director provides vision and direction for program growth, fosters strong relationships with healthcare partners, and ensures the program meets the standards of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This is a 12-month faculty position, with program leadership responsibilities.
Outcome/Essential Function:
The Program Director Role: - 40%
Provide academic and administrative leadership for the Radiography Program. - 10%
Ensure ongoing program effectiveness through curriculum development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement. - 7%
Oversee the program’s compliance with accreditation requirements and lead the self-study, reporting, and site-visit processes. 5%
Manage program operations, including scheduling, budgeting, faculty recruitment and evaluation, and resource allocation. 2%
Oversee, supervise the Director of Clinical Education, as well as participate in collaborations with clinical partners to secure, evaluate, and sustain clinical education placements and maintain strong communication with clinical coordinators. – 5%
Mentor faculty and staff, promoting professional development and instructional excellence. - 3%
Advise, recruit, and support students, fostering a culture of academic success and professional growth. – 3%
Engage in college service, strategic planning, and community partnerships to advance the mission of the institution. - 5%
Faculty Role: - 60%
Teach didactic and/or laboratory courses (12 credits a year) within the Radiography program as assigned, and serve as the Instructor of Record for taught courses, providing instruction, assessment, and guidance. - 40%
Lead the program’s strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation processes. – 5%
Supervise and evaluate program faculty, adjuncts, and staff. -5%
Maintain accurate student records and oversee student advising, progression, and retention initiatives. – 2%
Serve as liaison between the institution, accrediting bodies, and clinical affiliates. - 2%
Conduct regular program and curriculum reviews, implementing updates as needed. - 4%
Foster inclusivity and belonging in all aspects of the program. - 2%
Requirements
Experience and Education Required:
Master’s degree in a healthcare or education field
A terminal academic doctoral degree in any field will be highly valued
Current ARRT Certification and Registration in Radiography
Minimum of two years of full-time clinical experience as a certified and registered radiographer
Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative, supervisory, or program leadership role.
Experience in curriculum design, program evaluation, and student advising.
College-level teaching experience preferred.
Familiarity with AART/JRCERT standards and accreditation processes.
