Compensation: Hourly pay starting at $24-$28/hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience. Sign on bonus available

Deliver Advanced Surgical Care in a Compassion-First Hospital
Hampden Family Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician - Surgery to join our collaborative and highly skilled team. We are proud to be an AAHA-accredited hospital and a partner of the Canine Blood Heroes Blood Bank, providing advanced medical and surgical care to pets across Englewood, Littleton, Denver, Aurora, and Lakewood.
Our hospital offers comprehensive services including orthopedic and laparoscopic surgery, acupuncture, and specialized care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, and reptiles. Every member of our team is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care at every stage of a pet’s life.
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a critical role in patient safety, surgical efficiency, and post-operative recovery by:
- Preparing patients and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assisting veterinarians during surgeries in accordance with state practice acts
- Monitoring anesthesia for ASA I-III patients (ASA I-V preferred)
- Utilizing and interpreting blood pressure, ECG, SpO₂, and EtCO₂ readings
- Supporting ventilator use when applicable
- Providing high-level nursing care for surgical and recovering patients
- Collecting laboratory samples and performing in-house diagnostics
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Acquiring diagnostic images using digital radiography and advanced equipment
- Maintaining accurate medical records and patient histories
- Educating clients on post-operative care, medications, and treatment plans
- Supporting hospital flow and maintaining clean, sterile treatment areas
- Mentoring and supporting fellow team members
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Credentials
- Active CVT/LVT/RVT credential
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills
- Experience with post-operative patient care
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ventilators
- Experience monitoring higher-risk anesthesia patients (ASA IV-V)
- Strong attention to detail and critical-thinking abilities
- Comfort working with advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment
