A typical diagnostic shift consists of 100-150 exams. We employ a full-time NP to perform clinical duties for IR and help with minor procedures. We also employ a Radiologist Assistant (RA) who performs most of the fluoro and basic IR procedures.
IR coverage in the regional medical center consists of the full gamut of IR procedures from bread and butter to complex interventions (oncology, biliary, TIPS and more). IR call is very manageable. The practice is very supportive of IR.
Currently seeking:
We are currently seeking both interventional and diagnostic radiologists.
Diagnostic candidates should be comfortable with interpreting most modalities of diagnostic imaging efficiently and accurately as well as performing basic interventional procedures (biopsies, drains, joints, etc) if they arise. Mammography or a willingness to re-certify in mammography is favored. Neuro, MSK, MRI and nuclear medicine expertise would also be particularly valued, but we would consider others if the right fit. We would also consider per diem, part time or fully remote non- shareholder positions.
IR candidates should be proficient in or willing to learn a broad spectrum of IR procedures. Experience or training in peripheral artery disease, prostate artery embolization, genicular artery embolization and other emerging procedures is a plus. Currently one can expect 50-75% of time spent on an IR shift (depending on desire). While on downtime on IR, diagnostic radiology reading is expected. IR related work is anticipated to increase with new ventures/contracts.
