Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has exciting opportunities for multiple Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialists to join our BDS Fabrication Quality Organization in Berkeley, MO!
This position requires the candidate to hold current or recently current (within the last 18 months) NAS410 NDT certification in a minimum of one of the following methods: Ultrasonic (UT) or Radiography (RT).
Employees will be required to obtain a minimum of Level II certification in UT or RT method. Failure to achieve or maintain the required certifications may lead to termination of employment.
The NDT Specialist will join and work in a dynamic team supportive team within a fabrication environment using automated and traditional systems, evaluating collected data, making accept/reject decisions. Ideal candidates will have the ability to interpret blueprint requirements and have the capability of supporting and/or developing inspection procedures. Successful candidates will have experience in NAS410 standard, be an effective communicator, and be able to work across multiple diverse functions, including partnering with operations and engineering teams.
The Nondestructive Test Technician Level II is responsible for performing and overseeing nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures in accordance with NAS410/BSS7698 standards. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of aerospace components and systems. The technician will utilize various NDT methods, including but not limited to ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing, to detect defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment. Develops procedures and processes. Performs tests or inspections and collects data. Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations. Provides feedback on adverse trends. Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products. Conducts certification preparation training.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidates will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Currently hold or previously held (last 18 months) NAS410 Certified Level II in Ultrasonic (UT) or Radiographic (RT) method More than 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word More than 3 years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test) More than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical publications and/or specifications Experience in aerospace manufacturing or manufacturing support
Current or recently held (in the last 18 months) NAS410 Certified Level II in one or more NDT methods (Radiography (RT), Eddy Current (ET), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT) More than 3 years of experience with aerospace Non-Destructive Testing More than 3 years of experience performing Non-Destructive Testing on composite parts Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
Travel:
This position may require up to 10% travel
