North King Animal Clinic is a privately owned, independently run small animal practice in Northampton, Massachusetts. Founded in 1976 by Dr. Nancy Lewis Owen, we have served the Pioneer Valley for nearly 50 years with high?quality, compassionate medicine.

Our team is an eclectic mix of personalities (talented technicians, dedicated client service representatives, and a practice manager who keeps us all on track) united by a shared commitment to doing right by our patients, clients, and each other. We pride ourselves on a culture of respect, collaboration, and genuine kindness. There are no egos, no yelling, and no production pressure. Our only metric is a happy team, well?cared?for patients, and clients who feel supported.

Despite our cozy size, we are equipped with modern technology: in?house IDEXX laboratory equipment, direct digital radiology, dental radiology, handheld ultrasound, a Class IV therapeutic laser, and a fully paper?light medical record system with Cornerstone EMR, Talkatoo voice?to?text, and AI?assisted SOAP notes. We are also fortunate to be minutes from several emergency and referral hospitals, making it easy to focus on general practice and maintain a healthy work?life balance.

We are located in vibrant, walkable Northampton, an ultra progressive college town with renowned restaurants, arts, and outdoor recreation. Rainbow crosswalks, indie bookstores, and a genuine sense of community are all part of our neighborhood.
