Description
About Expert Radiology
Expert Radiology is a founder-led radiology practice delivering premium remote radiology services. Founded and led by a practicing radiologist, we offer a distinctive alternative to corporate teleradiology models, emphasizing clinical quality, radiologist autonomy, and sustainable working conditions. We are expanding our internal recruiting capability to support sustained practice growth.
Position Summary
Expert Radiology is hiring its first Head of Radiology Recruiting to build and own the physician recruiting function end-to-end. This senior role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will scale into a dedicated team, with a Sourcer / Recruiting Coordinator planned within the first six months and an additional recruiter considered based on hiring volume.
The successful candidate will operate as a builder, not a req-filler: establishing process, tooling, and reporting from the ground up; managing the full candidate funnel; and ultimately leading a small recruiting team.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Funnel Physician Recruiting. Own sourcing, screening, scheduling, closing, and candidate experience end-to-end. Partner with the CEO and clinical leadership on final-stage interviews.
Channel Strategy. Manage the full channel mix across inbound (ACR, LinkedIn, organic web), outbound sourcing, agency relationships, and internal employee referral programs. Allocate effort and budget across channels based on measured performance.
Measurement & Reporting. Build and maintain a weekly pipeline dashboard tracking candidate-acquisition cost, time-to-fill, close rate, and source attribution. Present a recruiting scorecard to the CEO on a weekly cadence.
Team Building. Hire, onboard, and manage the recruiting team as the function scales. Responsible for team design, role definition, and performance management.
Process & Tooling. Select and implement applicant tracking, sourcing, and reporting tools. Establish standard operating procedures for sourcing, screening, and offer negotiation.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $160,000–$200,000 depending on experience.
Performance Bonus: Variable compensation tied to placement volume and retention milestones. Typical Year 1 on-target earnings at expected hiring volume: $230,000–$300,000+.
Work Arrangement: Fully remote, United States-based.
Reporting: Direct report to the Chief Executive Officer, with substantial autonomy over the recruiting function and future team.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should email avery@expertradiology.com with the following:
- A brief statement of interest (two to three sentences) addressing why this particular role.
- Physician recruiting metrics from the last twelve months: hires placed, compensation bands, and close rate.
- Current resume or LinkedIn profile.
The target start date for this position is June 1, 2026. Qualified candidates will be contacted on a rolling basis, and the search will close when the right candidate is identified.
Equal Opportunity
Expert Radiology is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience. Five or more years of physician recruiting experience, ideally focused on high-demand specialties such as radiology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, pathology, or comparable hospital-based specialties. Both in-house and agency backgrounds considered.
- Track Record. Demonstrable placement record with specific numerical outcomes: hires placed, compensation bands supported, and close rates.
- Outbound Proficiency. Proven ability to source passive candidates who are not actively engaged with job boards. Comfortable with direct outreach at scale.
- Compensation Fluency. Ability to discuss physician compensation structures, including 1099 and W-2 arrangements, income and volume guarantees, and total-comp tradeoffs.
- Operator Mindset. Experience building recruiting processes, tooling, and reporting rather than only filling existing requisitions.
- Clinician Judgment. Demonstrated ability to screen independent, high-output clinicians for cultural and operational fit, not only credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience building a physician recruiting function from the ground up.
- Experience with teleradiology, locums, or other distributed-clinician delivery models.
- Established agency relationships applicable to radiology recruiting.
- Experience managing other recruiters or sourcers.
