Interventional Radiology is a high demand service for Cape Radiology Group.  In an effort to provide exceptional service to our patients and medical staff, we are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as Interventional Radiology Medical Director.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the Director of the Interventional Radiology Department.  In this role, the individual will have to be a critical thinker who will play a pivotal role in interfacing with diagnostic radiologists, their interventional colleagues, the medical staff, and administrators for the facilities that Cape Radiology Group services.  This is an incredible opportunity for the right individual who is committed to providing interventional services to a large geographic area in the Midwest.

Because of its large geographic area, travel for both physicians and their physician extender colleagues will be required.  Patients may also be required to travel to obtain certain sophisticated procedures.  

The optimal candidate will contribute to a work culture that fosters teamwork amongst the providers and hospital staff.  Their endeavors will be supported by the Cape Radiology Group Board who see this as a strategic imperative. 

The Interventional Radiology Medical Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan and vision for interventional radiology.  The Intervention Radiology Medical Director will need to collaborate with the Board of Directors of Cape Radiology Group to facilitate the integration of interventional radiology services into the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Due to the diverse service area, the Medical Director of Interventional Radiology will need to have the ability to analyze data, manpower needs and financials, to develop a strategic plan to provide services for patients, hospital systems and referring physicians.  This will require utilizing Interventional Radiologists, Physician Extenders and Radiology Assistants as necessary. The successful candidate will be able to use and expand the current clinical assets to grow and support a working Interventional Radiology Clinic. 

The hospital systems in the service area and the 40+ diagnostic radiologists will be a great resource for referrals and patient identifiers.

Cape Radiology enjoys long standing supportive ties to our partner facilities and has leveraged its resources to provide a true clinical IR practice with total group support.  Major infrastructure initiatives made in support of the IR practice include a dedicated IR clinic EMR with Streamline MD, a robust IR data collection system to guide strategic decisions, dedicated and protected clinic time for all providers, robust marketing support including dedicated microsite for Interventional Radiology Services designed and supported by OBL Marketing, support for general direct to patient marketing and use of OBL Marketing to guide social media and google campaigns, and a dedicated physician liaison for strategic engagement of referring practices across our region.

The Interventional Radiology Medical Director will have to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-based practice within the departments.  In addition, this will include the following commitments:

• Develop and optimize efficiency and resource utilization to benchmark Interventional productivity to national standards.
• Implement and monitor protocols and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work collaboratively with other department leaders, physicians, hospital administration and medical staff to enhance interdisciplinary patient care coordination.
• Communicate effectively with diagnostic radiology colleges and external stakeholders, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Develop and implement educational programs to support the ongoing professional development of interventional radiologists, midlevel providers, nurses, technologists, and radiology assistants.
• Stay abreast of advancements in interventional radiology and ensure that Cape Radiology Group remains at the forefront of technological and procedural innovation.
• Work with the board of directors to develop an aligned strategic vision with 1, 3 and 5 year goals and deliverables
