You'll practice alongside Diplomates in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Dentistry, and Ophthalmology, creating an environment where complex cases can be managed collaboratively without requiring clients to travel outside the Central Valley. FVSEC is also the only approved Emergency and Critical Care Resident Training Facility in the Central Valley, offering opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and continued professional development. In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage complex Internal Medicine cases spanning GI, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory conditions
- Perform and/or order diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, and advanced laboratory testing
- Coordinate with Emergency & Critical Care and other specialty teams on shared patients and transfers
- Collaborate with specialists in Surgery, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, and Emergency & Critical Care to provide comprehensive case management
- Utilize advanced hospital capabilities including Vimago CT, GE Logiq P6 Vet ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house laboratory and cytology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and laparoscopic equipment as appropriate to your cases
- Mentor technicians and support staff as part of daily case management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout the Central Valley
- Engage in ongoing CE, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine (DACVIM) or residency trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine and board eligible
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
- An interest in teaching, mentorship, and contributing to the growth of specialty medicine in the Central Valley
