At Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital, you'll join an established, close-knit specialty team in a state-of-the-art 26,000-square-foot, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. As a board-certified or residency-trained Medical Oncologist, you'll have the opportunity to practice alongside a highly collaborative group of specialists while helping advance a growing Oncology service within a hospital built around exceptional medicine, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to caring for one another.
Your colleagues include three Internists, two Radiologists, three Surgeons, an Anesthesiologist, two Ophthalmologists, two Cardiologists, a Neurologist, a Criticalist, and a large team of dedicated Emergency Veterinarians. This depth of expertise creates an ideal environment for multidisciplinary cancer care, allowing you to collaborate closely on complex cases and provide comprehensive treatment plans for your patients.
Port City's purpose-built facility gives you access to advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including a dedicated oncology-supporting pharmacy and laboratory with in-house blood analyzers, endoscopy, a 128-slice Canon CT scanner, ultrasound, digital radiography, high-flow oxygen, dedicated fluoroscopy/C-arm, and a Siemens 1.5T MRI. The hospital has also expanded its oncology capabilities with a newly opened Radiation Oncology Department supported by an Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerator, offering IMRT, VMAT, and SRT capabilities.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with internal medicine, radiation oncology, surgery, and critical care
- Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure compliance with USP 800 safety standards
- Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, refills, and question triage
- Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff
- Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound training, ECT training, or clinical trial coordination
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for New Hampshire state veterinary licensure.
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Residency Trained in Medical Oncology.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, mentorship, and advancing veterinary oncology.
